Models
FTC32 is the base model in the carbon steel ball float steam trap series, designed for horizontal installation with right-to-left flow when viewed from the bottom of the valve. FTC32(L-R) is for horizontal installation with left-to-right flow, while FTC32V is for vertical installation with upward or downward flow. FTC32-C adds a manually adjustable needle valve to the base configuration for steam lock release. FTC32X adds an internal strainer, and FTC32CV adds an internal check valve. When selecting a model, first choose FTC32, FTC32(L-R), or FTC32V according to the installation orientation and standard flow direction. Then select FTC32-C, FTC32X, or FTC32CV based on steam lock risk, contamination conditions, and condensate backflow risk, and confirm the configuration according to the required connection type, maximum differential pressure, and pressure-temperature conditions.
FTC32Standard Carbon Steel Ball Float Steam Trap
FTC32 is the base model in the FTC32 series. It uses a carbon steel body and a ball float mechanical discharge mechanism to remove condensate, with an integral automatic air vent. This model is available with threaded, socket weld, and flanged connections. Standard horizontal flow is right to left when viewed from the bottom of the valve.
FTC32VCarbon Steel Ball Float Steam Trap for Vertical Installation
FTC32V is the vertical connection model in the FTC32 series. It retains carbon steel ball float condensate discharge and integral automatic air venting, and is suitable for vertical installation with upward or downward flow.
FTC32(L-R)Carbon Steel Ball Float Steam Trap with Left-to-Right Flow
FTC32(L-R) is the horizontal connection model in the FTC32 series. It uses a carbon steel ball float condensate discharge design with an integral automatic air vent, changing the horizontal flow direction from left to right compared with the standard FTC32.
FTC32-CCarbon Steel Ball Float Steam Trap with Manually Adjustable Needle Valve
FTC32-C adds a manually adjustable needle valve to the FTC32 base model. In addition to automatic air venting, it provides steam lock release functionality.
FTC32XCarbon Steel Ball Float Steam Trap with Internal Strainer
FTC32X adds an internal strainer to the FTC32 base model while retaining ball float mechanical condensate discharge and integral automatic air venting, providing in-valve filtration.
FTC32CVCarbon Steel Ball Float Steam Trap with Internal Check Valve
FTC32CV adds an internal check valve to the FTC32 base model while retaining ball float mechanical condensate discharge and integral automatic air venting, providing protection against condensate backflow.

Application scenarios
Condensate Drainage from Steam-Heated Process Equipment
Used at the condensate outlet of steam-heated process equipment. It discharges condensate through a mechanical float mechanism under fluctuating pressure and load conditions, while the built-in automatic air vent removes air.
Selection points
Select by Maximum Differential Pressure Rating
FTC32 is available with maximum differential pressure ratings of 4.5 bar, 10 bar, 14 bar, 21 bar, or 32 bar, selected according to the actual system differential pressure.
Horizontal and Vertical Installation with Flow Direction Options
The standard product configuration is horizontal installation with right-to-left flow. FTC32(L-R) is available for left-to-right horizontal flow, while FTC32V models can be installed vertically with upward or downward flow.
Automatic Air Venting and Steam Lock Release Configuration
The product features an integral automatic air vent and can be supplied as FTC32-C with a manually adjustable needle valve for steam lock release.
Multiple Pipeline Connection Standards
The product is available with 1/2 in. and 3/4 in. threaded or socket weld connections, as well as DN15 and DN20 flanged connections, covering BSP, NPT, EN, ANSI, and JIS/KS connection standards.
Optional Internal Strainer and Check Valve
The product can be supplied with an optional internal strainer or check valve, designated FTC32X and FTC32CV respectively.
Installation & maintenance notes
Confirm Installation Orientation and Flow Direction for the Specific Model
Installation orientation and flow direction must correspond to the selected FTC32 configuration. The standard horizontal model has right-to-left flow, FTC32(L-R) provides left-to-right horizontal connections, and FTC32V can be installed vertically with upward or downward flow.
Verify the Maximum Differential Pressure for the Specific Configuration
Before installation, confirm that the actual system differential pressure does not exceed the maximum differential pressure of the purchased FTC32 configuration. The maximum differential pressure can be 4.5 bar, 10 bar, 14 bar, 21 bar, or 32 bar, depending on the specific configuration.
FAQ
What functions does the FTC32 float steam trap provide?
The FTC32 is a carbon steel float steam trap with a built-in automatic air vent. It is suitable for condensate removal in process applications and can handle fluctuating pressure and load conditions.
What sizes and connection options are available for the FTC32?
