I. Scope of Application

This Policy applies to the product display, sourcing inquiry, and business communication services provided to you by the SteamVendor website service provider through website pages, product materials, contact forms, email, telephone, instant messaging tools, and new forms that may emerge with technological development.

Because SteamVendor provides product materials and business communication services to cross-border wholesale, export trade, overseas buyers, importers, distributors, and channel customers, this Policy also applies to personal information processing activities in scenarios related to cross-border inquiries, cross-border quotations, sample delivery, international logistics, customs clearance cooperation, certification materials communication, after-sales handling, and other export trade matters. Relevant information may be provided to domestic and overseas partners for processing within the necessary scope in order to achieve the above business purposes.

Except for the information collection and use activities described in this Policy, this Policy does not apply to other services provided to you by third parties. Third-party services include, without limitation, third-party websites, payment platforms, logistics platforms, social media platforms, map services, data analysis services, communication tools, or external linked pages. Such services are subject to their own separately explained personal information processing rules.

II. Information Collection and Use

Regarding necessary information and optional information, when you use our products or services, the personal information that we need or may need to collect and use includes the following two types:

  1. Information necessary to provide you with the basic functions of this website, sourcing inquiry communication, customer service, security protection, and performance of obligations prescribed by laws and regulations. If you refuse to provide the corresponding information, you may be unable to normally submit inquiries, obtain quotations, arrange sample communication, or continue processing related cooperation requests.

  2. Information collected to provide you with additional services, improve product matching efficiency, optimize product recommendations, or improve the website experience. You may choose whether to agree to our collection and use of this type of information; if you refuse to provide it, this usually will not affect your browsing of the website’s basic content, but you may be unable to use related additional services or achieve the service effects we intend.

We especially remind you that the SteamVendor website is mainly used for brand display, product material display, and industrial sourcing communication, and does not directly provide open-platform transactions, ordinary user account systems, or online payment functions. Because the specific scope of services used by different users varies, the basic functions, additional functions, and corresponding types and scope of personal information collected and used will differ. Please refer to the specific page prompts, communication scenarios, or business documents.

The specific functional scenarios we provide to you include:

  1. Identity or business authenticity verification

To meet the needs of business security, anti-fraud, trade compliance, dispute handling, or contract performance, we may verify the business authenticity of you or the entity you represent based on the information you provide. When necessary, we may require you to supplement company information, authorization proof, business qualifications, receiving or settlement-related materials. The specific processing scope shall be subject to the business documents confirmed by both parties, third-party rules, and actual service scenarios.

(4) Customer Service and Dispute Handling

When you contact us or make pre-sales, after-sales, complaint, suggestion, or dispute handling requests, we may need you to provide necessary personal information to verify your identity or business relationship in order to protect your business request and system security.

For the reasonable need to provide services and improve service quality, we may also use relevant information, questionnaire feedback, or service evaluations that you provide during customer service communication, but we will process it within the necessary scope and avoid use beyond the original collection purpose.

Please note that information you publicly publish may involve your or others’ personal information or even sensitive personal information. Please consider more carefully whether to share or publicly disclose relevant information when using related services. If information you publicly publish involves others’ personal information, you must obtain their consent before publication or ensure that you have another lawful basis.

(6) Interactive Communication

We will process relevant information according to the principle of minimum necessity and use it within the scope required to achieve security purposes.

(8) Other Additional Services Provided to You

  1. Additional services based on browser permissions or device capabilities

To provide you with more convenient, higher-quality, or more personalized services, we may call browser permissions or device capabilities in specific scenarios. For example, when you upload sourcing lists, product images, qualification documents, or other attachments, the browser may need to access the local files you select; when you improve sourcing requirements through maps, region selection, or target market information, we may process the region information you actively fill in or select; when you contact us through instant messaging, email, or telephone links, the relevant third-party tools may process necessary information according to their rules.

If you do not agree to enable or use relevant permissions, this will not affect your browsing of the basic product materials and contact information on the SteamVendor website, but may cause file upload, material submission, region matching, quick contact, or other additional functions to be unavailable or fail to achieve the expected effect. You may manage the enabling or disabling of relevant permissions one by one through the settings of your browser, device system, or third-party tools. Your decision to disable permissions does not affect information collection and use that has already been conducted based on your authorization.

The above information helps us assess product fit, prepare quotation proposals, coordinate the supply chain, evaluate delivery feasibility, and improve communication efficiency. You may choose not to provide such additional information; however, refusal to provide it may prevent us from providing more accurate recommendations, quotations, or cross-border cooperation suggestions.

  1. Translation assistance, customer service, and communication tools

To facilitate cross-language and cross-region sourcing communication, we may use translation assistance, email systems, form tools, instant messaging tools, customer service tools, or similar services to process the business communication content you provide.
