Spirax Sarco IFT14 is a float steam trap with a built-in Spiratec sensor and integrated thermostatic air vent, available with BSP or NPT 1/2 in. and 3/4 in. threaded connections. It features a ductile iron body, a maximum operating pressure of 14 bar g (saturated steam), and a maximum operating temperature of 240°C@13 bar g. It can be connected to monitoring equipment to monitor trap condition: WLS1 detects flooding or leaking steam, while SS1 detects leaking steam. Suitable for monitoring steam trap failure conditions in steam systems.

Application scenarios
Steam trap fault condition monitoring
The IFT14 integrates a float steam trap, automatic air vent and built-in Spiratec sensor. It can be connected to a detection device to monitor steam trap fault conditions. With WLS1, it detects waterlogging or leaking steam; with SS1, it detects leaking steam.
Selection points
Built-in sensor status monitoring
Can be fitted with a WLS1 or SS1 sensor. WLS1 detects waterlogging or leaking steam, while SS1 detects leaking steam only.
Select the model according to the maximum differential pressure
Available in IFT14-4.5, IFT14-10, and IFT14-14 versions, with maximum differential pressures of 4.5 bar, 10 bar, and 14 bar, respectively. Select the appropriate model according to the actual system differential pressure.
BP99/32 liquid capsule for specified superheated steam conditions
The thermostatic air vent is fitted with a BP99/32 liquid capsule for superheated steam applications. The applicable superheat is 150°C at 0 barg and 50°C at 32 barg.
Ductile iron body
The body is made of DIN 1693 GGG 40 ductile iron.
Small-bore BSP or NPT threaded connections
Available with 1/2 inch and 3/4 inch connection sizes, with BSP or NPT threaded connections.
Installation & maintenance notes
Match the maximum differential pressure to the model
Before installation, verify the actual differential pressure on site. It must not exceed the maximum differential pressure of the applicable model: 4.5 bar for IFT14-4.5, 10 bar for IFT14-10, and 14 bar for IFT14-14.
FAQ
How does the IFT14 float steam trap work?
The IFT14 integrates a steam trap and steam trap detection device. Its built-in sensor detects waterlogging or steam leakage, while the float-operated inlet mechanism enables coordinated discharge and monitoring.
How do the detection targets differ between the detection device variants of the IFT14?
The WLS1 detects waterlogging and steam leakage; the SS1 detects only whether steam is leaking when the steam trap has failed.
What connection types and sizes are available for this product?
The available sizes are 1/2" and 3/4", with BSP or NPT threaded connections. The horizontal connection direction is from right to left.
What are the key temperature and pressure design parameters for this product?
The body design rating is PN16. The maximum allowable pressure is 16 bar g@120°C, and the maximum allowable temperature is 250°C@13 bar g. The maximum operating pressure for saturated steam is 14 bar g, and the minimum operating temperature is 0°C. The specific configuration must be confirmed based on the actual model and application conditions.
What should be considered during installation and maintenance?
Install the valve in the direction of the arrow on the body. The float arm must be positioned horizontally to ensure unrestricted movement. A 0.8 mm strainer is recommended upstream to remove system contaminants. For detailed installation and maintenance information, refer to the installation and maintenance guide supplied with the product.
