Application scenarios

Condensate drainage from steam main drip points

Used to discharge condensate formed during steam main operation. Suitable media include saturated steam and condensate, with a maximum operating pressure of 32 bar g.

Condensate drainage from steam tracing lines

Used to discharge condensate from steam tracing lines. The STD, NTS, or SUB liquid capsules can be selected according to operating conditions to drain condensate at 12°C, 6°C, or 24°C below the saturated steam temperature, respectively.

Condensate drainage branches at risk of reverse flow

Used for drainage branches where condensate backflow may occur. The integrated check valve version, UBP32CV, can be used to reduce the risk of condensate backflow.

Selection points

Compatible with Multiple Pipeline Connectors

Compatible with threaded, socket weld, and flanged connectors, and supports PC10, PC10HP, PC3 series, and PC4 series connectors for selection according to the pipeline connection method.

Three Liquid Capsule Drainage Temperature Configurations

Available with STD, NTS, and SUB liquid capsules, discharging condensate at 12°C, 6°C, and 24°C below saturated steam temperature, respectively, for selection based on the required condensate discharge temperature.

Maintenance-Free Austenitic Stainless Steel Sealed Design

The valve body is made of 304 austenitic stainless steel and features a sealed, maintenance-free design suitable for saturated steam and condensate systems.

Suitable for High-Pressure Steam Service

Maximum operating pressure: 32 bar g; maximum allowable pressure: 50 bar g @ 38°C; maximum allowable temperature: 400°C @ 28 bar g. Suitable for PN 50 or ANSI 300 pressure ratings.

Optional Model with Integral Check Valve

The UBP32CV model with an integral check valve is available for condensate discharge applications requiring non-return functionality.

Installation & maintenance notes

Connector and Installation Interface Compatibility

UBP32 should be installed with a connector matching the pipeline connection type. The product supports threaded, socket-weld, and flanged connectors. Before site installation, verify that the connector type matches the pipeline interface.

Medium, Pressure, and Temperature Verification

UBP32 is suitable for saturated steam and condensate systems. Before installation, confirm that site pressure and temperature do not exceed the product's allowable limits. The maximum operating pressure is 32 bar g, and temperature must also comply with the limits at the corresponding pressure.

Thermostatic Capsule and Discharge Temperature Matching

For installation and application, select the thermostatic capsule based on the required system drainage temperature: the STD type discharges at 12°C below saturated steam temperature, the NTS type at 6°C below, and the SUB type at 24°C below.

FAQ

What is the maximum operating pressure of UBP32?

The maximum operating pressure of UBP32 under saturated steam conditions is 32 bar g. The actual maximum operating pressure and temperature of the complete assembly also depend on the model and connection type of the pipeline connector used.

What is the difference between the STD, NTS, and SUB capsule discharge temperatures for UBP32?

The STD capsule discharges condensate at 12°C below steam saturation temperature; the NTS type discharges at 6°C below saturation temperature; and the SUB type discharges at 24°C below saturation temperature. The specific configuration must be confirmed according to the actual model and application conditions.

Which pipeline connectors can be used with UBP32?

UBP32 can be used with pipeline connectors such as PC10, PC10HP, PC3_, and PC4_. The connectors are available with threaded, socket weld, and flanged connections. The specific configuration must be confirmed according to the actual model and application conditions.

Is UBP32 easy to replace in-line?

UBP32 is connected to the pipeline connector by two connector bolts. When used with a suitable connector, the steam trap can be removed in-line without modifying the pipework, helping reduce system downtime.

Does UBP32 require internal maintenance, and is a certificate available?

UBP32 is a sealed, maintenance-free steam trap with no internal spare parts. An EN 10204 3.1 certificate is available for the product; certificate requirements must be specified when ordering.
