Application scenarios

High-Pressure Instrumentation and Measurement System Isolation

Used for isolating high-pressure instrument tubing in fluid and gas measurement applications. Suitable for small-bore connection lines for instruments such as pressure gauges and pressure transmitters, providing reliable zero-leakage shutoff.

High-Pressure Gas Instrument Tubing Isolation

Used in instrument branch lines and gas measurement tubing for compressed air or other gas systems to isolate gas on the instrument side. Suitable for the pressure, temperature, and connection conditions specified for the product.

Oil and Gas High-Pressure Instrument Branch Isolation

Used in high-pressure instrument branches in oil and gas installations to isolate the process medium from pressure monitoring, fluid measurement, or gas measurement instruments. Suitable for small-bore high-pressure connection points.

Industrial Water System Instrumentation and Test Branch Isolation

Used for pressure monitoring, metering, or equipment test branches in industrial water systems to connect or isolate instruments and test devices. Suitable for the pressure, temperature, and connection conditions specified for the product.

Selection points

HX Model 10,000 psi High-Pressure Instrumentation Compatibility

The HX series has a maximum allowable working pressure of 10,000 psi WOG, making it suitable for high-pressure instrumentation applications in fluid and gas measurement.

Three-Piece 316 Stainless Steel Construction

The valve features a three-piece body construction, with the body, stem, and ball all made of 316 stainless steel.

PEEK Seats and High-Temperature Range

The HX series uses PEEK seats and has an operating temperature range of -34°C to 260°C.

Floating Ball Design for Low-Torque Operation

The HP/HX series features a floating ball design with bubble-tight sealing, 90° rotary operation, and low operating torque.

ASME Design and API Testing Standards

The HP/HX series is designed in accordance with ASME B16.34 and tested in accordance with API 598.

Installation & maintenance notes

Verify Model-Specific Pressure and Temperature Conditions

Before installation, verify that the site pressure and process medium temperature do not exceed the maximum allowable working pressure and temperature range of the applicable HP or HX model. Do not mix pressure ratings and temperature ranges between different models.

Verify End Connection Compatibility

Before installation, verify that the valve end connection type matches the site piping connection requirements. The standard end connection for this series is NPT threaded, with compression fittings also available as an option.

FAQ

How do HP/HX Series threaded ball valves operate?

The HP/HX Series uses a floating-ball design with bubble-tight sealing. The valve opens and closes through a 90° rotation, providing low operating torque.

What are the maximum operating pressures and applicable temperature ranges for this series?

The HP Series has a maximum allowable operating pressure of 6,000 psi WOG, while the HX Series is rated for 10,000 psi WOG. The HP temperature range is -40°F to 280°F (-40°C to 138°C), and the HX temperature range is -29°F to 500°F (-34°C to 260°C).

What are the key technical advantages of the materials and construction?

Critical components, including the body and ball, are manufactured from 316 stainless steel. The three-piece body construction complies with ASME B16.34, and the valves are tested in accordance with API 598, providing material traceability and durability.

What are the key considerations when selecting a valve from this series?

Consider the size range, seat material (PVDF for HP and PEEK for HX), seat and ball materials, whether optional accessories are required (such as a handle, stop pin, or actuator), and the operating media and temperature conditions. The specific configuration must be confirmed based on the actual model and application conditions.

What should be considered during installation and maintenance?

Ensure that safety features, including the internal blowout-proof stem design and locking kit, are in good condition. Select the appropriate end connection (NPT thread or optional compression fitting), and inspect the seals and drive components regularly to ensure operation within the specified temperature and pressure ranges.
