Manual Operator Series 05

The Series 05 is used for isolation and on/off applications of quarter-turn valves. It can be installed where Bray pneumatic actuators are used, providing manual override for spring-return actuators. Valve size range is 2" to 36" (50 mm to 900 mm). Specific configuration depends on the actual model and application conditions.

During power loss, rotating the clutch lever creates a cam action that engages the worm with the segmented worm gear. Turning the handwheel then drives the valve, completing manual operation.

During normal pneumatic operation, the worm in the Series 05 gear train is disengaged and does not participate in valve drive. The manual override engages only when needed via the clutch lever, balancing pneumatic operation with safe manual operation during power loss.

Selection should confirm the valve is a quarter-turn type, and verify valve size, required output torque, and actuator matching conditions. The Series 05 output torque ranges from 2,000 to 36,000 in-lbs. Specific model depends on actual valve torque and application conditions.

The Series 05 is suitable for quarter-turn valve applications requiring isolation or on/off control, particularly where spring-return pneumatic actuators need manual override capability. Switching between normal pneumatic operation and manual operation during power loss is achieved via the clutch mechanism.
