Product Overview
Bray industrial butterfly valve with corrosion-resistant bushing and enhanced sealing technology
Reliable Shut-Off Valve for Automation and Critical Pressure Control
Bray 3A/3AH series resilient seated butterfly valves feature a double flanged design, highly suitable for dead-end service. International compatibility is a key design advantage of the Bray modular valve product line. These valves conform to most international flange standards - ASME Class 125/150, BS 10 Tables D and E, BS 4504 NP 10/16, AS 2129, and JIS10. Additionally, the 3A and 3AH series valve designs conform to ISO 5752-Table 2 (EN558 Table 13) face-to-face flanges and ISO 5211 actuator mounting flanges, making this valve series widely usable in global markets.

Features and Benefits

A Stem
Precision double “D” form disc-to-stem connection drives the disc without the need for screws or taper pins.
B Seat
Bray’s bonded seat design reduces torque and completely isolates the fluid media from the body. The seat also features a molded O-ring, eliminating the need for flange gaskets.
C Stem Retention Assembly
The stem is retained in the body through a unique stainless steel Spirolox® retaining ring, a thrust washer, and two C-rings. These components are standard in brass and available in stainless steel on request. The retaining ring is easily removed using standard hand tools. The stem retention assembly prevents accidental stem disassembly during field service.
D Stem Bushing
Non-corrosive heavy-duty acetal bushing absorbs actuator side thrust.
E Stem Packing
Dual “U” cup seal design is self-adjusting, providing reliable bidirectional sealing and preventing external substances from entering the stem bore.
F Extended Neck
Extended neck length allows for 2” (50 mm) pipe insulation and easy actuator installation.
G Primary and Secondary Seals
These stem packings prevent pipe media from contacting the stem or body. The primary seal is achieved through interference fit with the molded seat flats on the disc hub. The secondary seal is achieved through a larger stem diameter than the seat stem hole diameter.
H Disc
Spherical machining and hand polishing provide bubble-tight sealing, minimum torque, and longer seat life.
