A rugged three-piece ball valve designed for high-performance flow control:
The Triad Series ball valve is a true ASME B16.34 Class 600 standard valve (2200 WOG), featuring a robust three-piece construction engineered for superior performance and reliable operation under demanding conditions.
The Triad Series 3-piece ball valve features redundant body-to-stem packing and is available in full-port and standard-port models. These rugged high-pressure ball valves are ideal for industrial processes, high-temperature, and high-cycle applications. The Triad is available with resilient seats, metal seating, and V-ball control valve trim, with optional accessories and configurations such as anti-static protection and API 607 4th Edition certified fire-safe trim.
Resilient seat materials include RPTFE, PEEK, TFM, Virgin PTFE, UHMWPE, Tek Fil (carbon graphite/TFM), and stainless steel filled PTFE. All resilient seat materials provide bidirectional bubble-tight shutoff with low-pressure/vacuum sealing capability. Metal-seated Triad valve trim features Stellite® cobalt-chrome alloy seat overlay, providing superior corrosion resistance, higher operating temperatures, and excellent wear resistance with high hardness.
NPS ¼ to 2 | DN 8 - 50 full port and NPS ¾ - 2½ | DN 20 - 65 standard port sizes feature self-adjusting live-loaded stem packing with Belleville washers to compensate for environmental changes and wear, ensuring maintenance-free operation. 3” and 4” Triad valves feature external live-loaded packing using Belleville washers for uniform packing load distribution.
Bray Triad Series three-piece ball valves deliver superior performance across a wide range of industrial flow control applications with industry-leading warranty coverage and a proven reputation.

Features and Benefits
Ingenious Stem Assembly
Flow-Tek manufactures heavy-duty, high-quality stems that connect to the ball and operating device via a double “D” configuration. All Flow-Tek stems are internally entry and blowout-proof, maximizing safety. Triad Series 2½” port valves feature a robust large-diameter stem with live-loaded, self-adjusting primary and secondary sealing. Using Belleville washers, the stem packing is self-adjusting to compensate for temperature changes and normal wear. The stem assembly is secured by a saddle lock washer, preventing stem nut loosening in high-cycle automated applications.
Stem Packing
The primary seal consists of a 50% stainless steel and 50% PTFE thrust washer with a PEEK thrust washer protector. Adjustable stem packing and an additional PEEK packing protector form multiple secondary seals between stem and body. The stem packing is composed of graphite, providing fire-safe protection and extremely high cycle life. This dual stem packing design is exclusive Flow-Tek technology.
Anti-Static Protection
Triad Series anti-static protection valves feature standard anti-static grounding devices. These devices ensure electrical continuity between the ball, stem, and body, preventing electrostatic charge from sparking inside the valve.
Stem Design for 3” and 4” Valves
The stem is guided by the body and gland, ensuring smooth operation even under high torque conditions. The packing gland is adjustable, and all stems are polished to reduce torque. Optional Belleville washers can be added for self-adjusting live loading.
Dual Body-to-Stem Packing
Flow-Tek’s Triad Series valves feature a dual body seal system providing additional external leakage protection. The internal primary seal is TFM material. The secondary seal is graphite. Using TFM as the internal seal minimizes media color contamination. Both body-to-stem packings are securely retained in machined grooves in the body. These grooves reduce seal movement and cold flow, maintaining compression stability even under extreme conditions.
Secure Mounting
The Triad Series features a unique standard feature: an integrally cast top flange ensuring mandatory actuator mounting. This actuator mounting pad prevents unnecessary actuator movement in high-cycle or continuous load applications. The actuation equipment can be easily and safely removed while the valve is under full line pressure. The actuator mounting pad conforms to ISO 5211 bolt patterns. Additionally, the mounting pad facilitates field assembly of Flow-Tek’s media containment device. Combined with the dual body-to-stem packing, this makes it an ideal valve for emission-free severe service, high-temperature and semi-cryogenic, and high-cycle applications.
Seat Selection
A wide range of seat materials is available to meet most application needs. The standard seat material is TFM 1600, which offers reduced porosity and permeability, improved temperature range, and lower valve torque compared to PTFE, while maintaining excellent chemical resistance. Optional materials include RPTFE, Stainless Steel/PTFE (50/50), UHMWPE, Virgin PTFE, PEEK, Tek-Fil® (carbon/graphite filled TFM), full metal seats, and cavity filler. PEEK seats provide high-pressure/high-temperature capability. Tek-Fil seats offer lower torque in high-temperature, high-cycle, and steam service applications.
