Product Overview
ASME B16.34 certified ball valve for global chemical and mining operations
ASME B16.34 Certified Ball Valve for High Precision and Durability
Bray Series 19/19L segmented ball valve combines the shearing action commonly found in knife gate valves with the control characteristics and sealing performance typical of ball valves. The Series 19 and 19L segmented ball valves feature a wide segmented range, high flow capacity, and excellent rotary control valve performance. Designed for throttling applications, the Series 19/19L segmented ball valves also deliver exceptional sealing performance in on-off applications, achieving Class VI shutoff with resilient trim and Class IV shutoff with metal seat trim.
Series 19/19L segmented ball valves are designed to ASME B16.34 standards with spring-assisted, pressure-balanced seat design. The spring maintains constant pressure on the segment, ensuring effective sealing at low differential pressures, while the pressure-balanced design also ensures effective sealing at full differential pressure with smooth, low-torque operation. The Series 19/19L seat design also directs fluid away from the sealing area, enhancing durability. The one-piece cast body reduces weight, increases rigidity, and eliminates potential leak paths.
Bray’s Series 19L segmented ball valve further enhances the standard Series 19 for high-wear slurry and severe service ball valve applications. Bray’s proprietary advanced coating technology is applied to the internal surfaces of the body and segment to improve hardness and corrosion resistance. This advanced coating technology provides higher bond strength than other commonly used coating technologies throughout the industry. A field-replaceable corrosion-resistant liner is installed in the downstream bore to protect the body from high-velocity abrasive flow media.
Series 19 and 19L segmented valves are available with various coatings and trims for different service conditions, making them ideal for a wide range of industries and applications where increased durability and reliability can extend maintenance intervals, minimize downtime, and increase your profitability.

Features and Benefits
A One-Piece Body
Provides a rugged housing capable of withstanding pipe loads and eliminating potential leak paths.
B Splined Stem-to-Disc Connection
Delivers efficient torque transmission and precise control, reducing hysteresis and dead band.
C Self-Centering Ball Segment
Specially designed perfect orientation pins facilitate ball segment self-alignment while simplifying assembly and disassembly during routine maintenance.
D Coating
High-performance coatings on internal components ensure long service life and corrosion resistance.
E Self-Energizing Seat
Seat springs provide constant pressure on the seat to seal the disc at low differential pressures. At higher differential pressures, the optimized seal diameter ensures low seat torque.
F Protected Seal Area
Seat design directs media away from the sealing area.
G Blowout-Proof Stem
Retaining ring installed between machined stem groove and packing gland step.
H Easy Maintenance
Seat is replaceable without removing disc and shaft.
A Corrosion-Resistant Downstream Liner/Seat
Flow reversal prevents body wall erosion caused by high velocity at low openings.
B Severe Service Coating
Customized ultra-hard coating provides application-specific corrosion and erosion resistance for valve internals.
C Bearing Stem Packing
Protects metal bearings from media intrusion.
D Pressure-Balanced Seat Design
Seat seals at full differential pressure for low torque and smooth operation.
E Easy Maintenance
Flanged retaining ring features an uninterrupted gasket surface for easy seat and liner replacement.
F Trim Options
Multiple options available to optimize performance for different levels of corrosive applications.
